Leadership Activity

Leadership Activity
We targeted the Devi Nagar for our leadership activity and we entered the community with three members group. The group contents members namely as a leaders Yoginder, Usha and follower was savita.
Today’s children are tomorrow’s citizens so we have targeted children group as our focus group. We believe in play way method through this method if we teach something to children they will grasp immediately and Thorley.
On 24th Jan 2009 we entered in to community with the through plan. We saw three children and we entered with kids, ask them to take three friend each kids before that we use a steel plate and spun by beating it children attracted and that moment was very beautiful children are rushed towards us and we make them to play brain storming games and with another game we thought them fruits name.
In the end we got fantastic feedback from parent they express that they want this type of activity frequently. They have written there feedback.

Development Dialogue

It was the first day of development dialogue (exchange of ideas). I had done voluntary for deshpande development dialogue. I am in class room and case study but there was lots of extra work for this team. There were Ngos site visits in the schedule .l from 8:00am to 3:00pm. Visits divided in for parts agriculture, education, health and livelihood. I selected health. There is my work to care to people. We went to Sitigeti village to see the work of FPAI (Family Planning Association India). We mat there with a youth group. FPAI working for adolescent group and giving knowledge to all about sexually ,mentally change and family planning. We also visited a hospital. It is the part of Health Sector Site Visit. Health Care without Harm (HCWH) project is there. They are working for medical waste for saving human and environmental health.
After that 3:30pm to 5:00pm – Lead Mela in this over 700 college student participated from Northwest Karnataka. They showed their community services projects. And DFP had given Prize to Top Five projects. And after that my task in the DCSE Auditorium because there was Kickoff the conference with an overview of the activities of the Deshpande Foundation past and present and the status of social of societal development in the sandbox . Dr. Ashok Shettar was Speaker for that.

REPUBLIC DAY

Hello Friends
PEACE MARCH IN THE PREPARATION OF REPUBLIC DAY

We celebrated 26 January; on 25 January we all fellows went to Rani Channamma circle, Hubli। We all fellows organized a Candle March Against terrorism। This is idea of Ajay and we all made it true। We started March 6:55pm All of us was holding a lighting candle and we were walking in circle without a sound. Some other people joined us it is really good team work we had no enough time but we all made it color full.

Guest Speaker

First Guest speaker of Fellowship Cohort II
Hello,
Dear friends,
It was a First good opportunity for the cohort II fellows because on (24 Jan 2009) Prof. M.S. Venugopal has come as a guest speaker and he has having very simple personality.


Points he told us:
Communication:- For the community and market। He told us to make some slogan by this he taught us skill of communication, your message should be short and strong and it click on the people’s mind for the community or market.
Problem solving: - He Create four groups and given a problem to all and we solved the problem. He added a point there that before taking dission thinks about the benefit.
Social Entreprenuer work: - Empower and build strength of people।

He asked to everyone if you have a chance to change your name then what you will want to be and what will you do। It should be your favorite person। He asked three fellows। I feel that he wants to know that how much we know about our self.

He has lots of experiences:-
Ø As a lecturer in Junior College Matru Mandali
Ø As a Lecturer in Cauvery College, Madikeri
Ø Teaching experience in JSS Law College
Ø Retired as a Professor in Law from JSS Law College in 2003
Ø As a Director in Vivekananda Institute for Leadership Development (MNPM), Mysore
Ø And he worked as a NSS officer of JSS Law College unit

All the things he told us by the game and by singing the song. I did not understood songs but I enjoyed a lot. He has a very good way to talk and explain the things. All fellows were listening him carefully.
Thanks to Prof. M.S. Venugopal for Enrich my knowledge. A lot of thank to Deshpande Foundation for their main role in this.

Deshpande Fellowship Program : Orientation Program

Deshpande fellowship Orientation
It is the great pleasure to share with you all that the Deshpande Fellowship Program Cohort – II started.Orientation was for three days (20th Jan, 2009 to 22nd Jan, 2009). I am very happy.We are twenty two fellows in this cohort - II. Names are Ajay, Basavaraj, Beeralinga, Chandrashekhar, Chandru, Davalsaheb, Devadanam, Fathima, Gayatri, Hanamantha, Jagadeesh, Lakshmish, Latha, Lingaraj, Mahantesh, Malini, Meenakshi, Shambhulinga, Savita, Usha, Veeresh and myself yoginder.First day 20th JanuaryDay startedDeshpande Foundation’s with some icebreaking games by Taryn (Program Director). Mr. Naveen Jha director of the DCSE (Deshpande Centre for Social Entrepreneurship) and manages the India operations. He had introduced all the DF staff to us. He gave overview of DFP, reward system, DFP goals and reward scale. Then we papered poster about our self and then Program Manager Chinnababu had told about DFP policies. In the evening there was dinner with LEAD program volunteers before the dinner they presented their work.
Second day 21st January
Day started with icebreaking games by Taryn. It was fixed that we were to meet with sandbox fellows before that we pasted our chart on the library. Then three sandbox fellows (Rebecca Kline, Lesley Pories and Liza Fouksman) presented their work. Than the time was of Poster session and I shoed my Poster to seven people. Then we went to sub-jail Hubli it is a part of community service project there we presented two plays on social and health issue, song, jokes and mimicry. And in the last of that day we had dinner with sandbox fellows.
